Chocolate Mint Brownies

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Heat butter and chocolate in a medium-sized saucepan over low heat, until melted. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in chocolate mixture until smooth.

Spread in buttered, square baking pan (8 inches x 8 inches). Bake 25-30 minutes, or until brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan. Do not overbake. Cut into bars before serving. (Optional), garnish with whole mint wafers.
