Tequila Sunrise Freezer Pops

Makes: 10 pops

10 stemless maraschino cherries
27.5 fl. oz.810 ml orange juice
5 fl. oz.150 ml blanco or silver tequila
1 1/4 teaspoons1 1/4 teaspoons Nielsen-Massey Pure Orange Extract
2 1/2 tablespoons2 1/2 tablespoons grenadine
10 3-ounce85-gram freezer pop bags

Add a maraschino cherry to each freezer pop bag and shake the bag to migrate the cherry to the very bottom.

Place a freezer pop bag in a clean tall drinking glass. In a measuring cup combine the orange juice, tequila and Nielsen-Massey Pure Orange Extract and stir together. Place a funnel into the top of the freezer pop bag and pour the liquid into the bag. The liquid should reach the fill line on the bag but no higher. Repeat stirring the mixture between filling each freezer pop bag (will assure even distribution of the tequila for better freezing).

Pour 3/4 teaspoon3/4 teaspoon grenadine through the funnel into the liquid. It will create a color gradient with more red toward the bottom. Note: if desired the grenadine may be added to the liquid mixture however the freezer pops will not have the same coloration.

Freeze the freezer pop upright in the freezer until fully frozen (this will retain the color and prevent seepage).

To eat: cut the top of the freezer pop bag just below the zipper seal and serve.
