Meet Marina Sousa

Marina Sousa is the owner, pastry chef and designer of Just Cake, located in Monterey Bay, California. Since opening in 2003, Marina has quickly earned recognition for her impeccable style and unmatched quality. Bride featured her as one of the country’s top 50 sugar artists and she was named one of the “Top Ten Cake Designers” by Dessert Professional Magazine. Marina is often seen on Food Network where she has repeatedly clinched first place finishes on Food Network Challenge and served as a judge on the show.

She also frequently designs cakes for high-profile celebrities and celebrity events including wedding cakes for Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston and Raquel Welch. In addition, she made a sweet 16 cake for Miley Cyrus during one of her Food Network Challenge wins.

Marina holds a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley as well as degrees in Visual Presentation and Space Design from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and Theatrical Production Management from the California Institute of the Arts.
