Vanilla Rose Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 5 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nielsen-Massey Rose Water
  • 1/2 cup Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Sugar
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed

Crisp Topping

  • 8 tablespoons (1 stick) soft butter
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/4 cup Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Sugar
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 teaspoon Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Bean Paste
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, combine apples, melted butter, flour, cinnamon, Nielsen-Massey Rose Water, Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Sugar and brown sugar. Place apple mixture into 9 inches by 9 inches baking dish coated with nonstick spray. In medium bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Sugar, flour, oats, Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Bean Paste, cinnamon and salt. Top apples with crisp mixture and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until apples are tender.

Serves 6-8.

Notes:

You can use Pure Vanilla Bean Paste in place of Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Bean Paste to achieve a different, but still delicious, flavor profile. Simply use the same amount of the Pure Vanilla Bean Paste.

Place apple mixture into 23 cm by 23 cm baking dish coated with nonstick spray. In medium bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Sugar, flour, oats, Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Bean Paste, cinnamon and salt.
