Bring the World of Vanilla to Your Kitchen

After creating vanilla products for over a century, we know that vanilla doesn’t have to be so, well…vanilla. That’s why we source beans from the highest-quality vanilla-growing regions around the world to craft five, single-origin vanilla extracts. Just as you can taste the difference in coffee beans grown in Colombia versus Ethiopia, each vanilla-growing region imparts distinct flavors into its vanilla beans based on the climate, soil and drying process that are unique to that region. Sourcing from distinct regions means that we are able to provide you with the best vanilla extracts for all your recipes, like floral Tahitian Pure Vanilla Extract for custards or creamy Ugandan Pure Vanilla Extract for cakes. Read on to discover how each of our vanilla extracts can enhance flavors in everything from banana bread to crème brûlée!

Tahitian Pure Vanilla Extract

Little-known fact: the vanilla grown in Tahiti is actually a different species of vanilla orchid than is grown anywhere else in the world! The unique orchid, along with differences in how the beans are cured, causes our Tahitian Pure Vanilla Extract to have a distinct, floral, fruity flavor that is cherry-like. Tahitian vanilla is very susceptible to heat, so we recommend using it in frozen or refrigerated recipes like ice cream or smoothies.

Suggested Applications

  • Sweet ideas: pastry creams, smoothies, puddings, custards, no-bake cookies
  • Savory ideas: salad dressings, beurre blanc sauce, sweet potato salad
  • Beverage ideas: martinis, margaritas, gin fizzes

Mexican Pure Vanilla Extract

The vanilla orchid originated in Mexico and has been cultivated there since the time of the Aztecs. Its deep, creamy flavor with spicy-sweet and woody notes is similar to clove or nutmeg. This unique flavor profile adds an extra layer of deliciousness to dishes that feature chocolate, citrus fruits, cinnamon and other warm spices. Mexican vanilla extract also balances the heat and acidity found in chili peppers and tomatoes.

Suggested Applications

  • Sweet ideas: ginger snaps, spiced cookies, cakes, brownies
  • Savory ideas: tomato sauces, barbecue sauces, chilis, salsas
  • Beverage ideas: hot chocolate, chai lattes

Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract

There’s no whiskey here – our Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract gets its name from the vanilla grown on the Bourbon Islands, located off Africa’s southeastern coast. Madagascar, the largest of the Bourbon Islands, is famous for its high-quality, large crop that produces over 80 percent of the world’s vanilla beans.  Known for its complex and full flavor profile featuring sweet, creamy and mellow notes, this versatile extract is perfectly suited for every recipe in your book!

Suggested Applications

  • Sweet ideas: cakes, cookies, ice cream, French toast, scones
  • Savory ideas: salmon, soups, marinades
  • Beverage ideas: milkshakes, coffee cocktails

Ugandan Pure Vanilla Extract

Uganda’s climate conditions, fertile soil and careful cultivation practices produce some of the highest quality vanilla beans in the world. We hand-select the best vanilla beans and put them through our slow, gentle, cold extraction process to preserve Ugandan vanilla’s bold, creamy-sweet and chocolatey flavor profile. Similar to Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract, this extract is highly versatile and can enhance any dish you add it to. However, it complements chocolate, caramel and citrus dishes best.

Suggested Applications

  • Sweet Ideas: chocolate, caramel desserts, candies, ice creams, cakes, macarons
  • Savory Ideas: sauces, salsas, salad dressings
  • Beverage Ideas: smoothies, iced tea

Indonesian Pure Vanilla Extract

Indonesia’s vanilla-growing region stretches along the entirety of the island nation’s length, over 3,000 miles! This is good news for two reasons – it means that the country provides a stable supply of vanilla, and it’s able to produce one of the world’s largest vanilla crops, second only to Madagascar. We work with suppliers in the country to source the highest quality vanilla beans from Indonesia’s large crop.

Indonesia also sets itself apart with its unique cultivation and curing process, which gives the beans their distinct woody, smoky flavor profile that is extremely stable under high-heat applications such as baking or grilling.

Suggested Applications

  • Sweet Ideas: cakes, cookies, muffins, chocolate, ice cream
  • Savory Ideas: barbecue sauces, chilis, meats
  • Beverage Ideas: chai lattes, mulled wine, heated cocktails
